Lexi’s bio

Since we only just met you might be thinking, why should I follow any recommendations this Lexi person is making? Please, let me give you some insight as to who I am and what makes me tick! I am a restless soul with a severe case of wanderlust. I am the sort who, while on one vacation, is planning the next vacation. I have always wondered where does that road or trail lead, what’s over that ridge, and what is life in other countries like? I credit my parents for having given me the gift of travel from the time I was born. My mother was born in Riga and raised in Heidelberg and my father was born and raised in Boulder, CO. As a child we alternated summer vacations between Europe and Colorado. I fell deeply in love with both places. I attribute my parents’ love of culture, travel, food, languages, and the outdoors as the source of my desire for travel and adventure. I come alive exploring the backroads, experiencing new cultures, and being outdoors. I am a road-tripping fool who loves to make soundtracks for the trip and buy all of the gas-station snacks that you know are not made of a single natural product. In the words of Rodney Atkins in his song Road Less Traveled, he sings: “wanna get lost and get right with my soul, wanna take a back road…” This is essentially my guiding philosophy.

I have a deep love and respect for the outdoors.  I am happiest when I am trail-running, skiing, hiking, climbing, camping, rafting, kayaking, and exploring as many places as I possibly can. I have been blessed to have wonderful friends, family, and four-legged companions with whom I have shared many wonderful adventures and memories along the way. Yes, Todd and I even shared our honeymoon to Tanzania (Kilimanjaro and safari) with dear friends Pam, Greg, and Emily!!

I don’t want to spend a single day not living life to the fullest. Humor, of course, must be a critical part of all of this. If you ain’t laughing you ain’t living!

So, if this sounds like you, please follow along!! I hope that we can bring some inspiring ideas and adventures to you. We would love to hear your thoughts as we go along!

Cheers,

Lexi
